This might sound insane but there is a school which is called The Pain Academy which has course contents such as Experience 101 and Blurred View Made Clear 1.0. There is other course work in this Academy but for want of time, let us explore this discourse with these two. The lecturers or trainers or teachers by whatever nomenclature you may ascribe to them use the platform of pain of various degrees and levels to pass understanding during the course works.
By way of Experience 101, you get to understand that things are not as they normally appear. You get your eyes really opened to certain realities through attending the lectures on Blurred View Made Clear 1.0.
A lot of times, we question ourselves if the pain is really worth it. The answer I will give is emphatic: yes, pain is worth all it brings most of the times. Pain is not an emotion; it is a stage in life which is necessary for the building of a person’s character. It is the only stage in life that forces us to take a pause, re-evaluate our lives, ask questions, plan ahead and either forge on or take a bow off the stage.
The ups and downs of life are the ingredients which make it worth living and when it’s downtime, it’s time to appreciate the beauty of life and understand why Gold comes out beautiful after the fire. The fire of pain polishes you; it burns off foolishness and strengthens you while adding more value to you as a person. So, when the storms of life hit, do not panic; why? You have a God who never fails.
One of the sweetest lines in recorded scriptures is what we find in Matthew 6:25-27 when Christ spoke in concert with His Disciples in what is famously referred to as The Sermon on the Mount. He was direct, succinct and without mincing words:
‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?’
The idea here is for you to put the burden on God while you rest in the confidence that while He is in charge, you take useful lessons to see the message in the pain you might be going through at a particular time. You cannot learn or understand anything when your mind is clouded with all sorts. So deliberately cultivate the attitude of being calm and ask yourself what could be the valuable lessons in the whole situation.
Lessons in pains are not hard to find when you are at peace with yourself in the storms of life. Whatever has given you sleepless nights, made you cry and sometimes casts doubts in your mind to the point that you contemplate losing faith in God, it is my fervent prayer today that God comforts you and wipe away your tears.
Have this in mind at all times…
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones”
– Proverbs 3:5-8
